Okay dude...I use to do a trick like that here is how I did it....

1.Let the person choose a card.
2.Let them put it back into the deck and shuffle.
(3)-I worked out the formation on which the deck was based, then shuffled...I payed attention to where they put the card and then worked it out in my mind and then looked at the deck from a 3-D view looking at each card differently in 3-D...
then I could easily pick the card out of the deck..

BUT THAT DEPEND's IF YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT!!!

lol, kiddo :
a magician never reveals his trick
but, 'am no magician. so, i'll tell you how he do that
listen to me carefully

every card has a picture of something on the back, so the trick is to know the picture
for example see this :

look at the picture carefully and you'll see that there's a full circle in the upper left corner of the card whereas all the other corner have only a half-broken circle
THAT IS THE TRICK and though every card has different picture, every card has that trick ; all you have to do is find it

so, you have to arrange all the card in the exact order before your brother knows about it
then you show him the card, let him pick one
while he was doing that you have to twist the card in your hand upside down so that when he put his card along with your other card, it comes back upside down
then, you let him shuffle and much as he like
that's when the magic comes
you take the card, observe each card carefully and you'll surely find the upside down card

ALL THE BEST for your new learned MAGIC

The cards are marked ,when he sticks the card on top after you pick it theres a mark (usually in the corner) thats easy to see if you know what to look for . Thats why you can shuffle them,or whatever you like cause the card is marked a certain way ,acually all the cards are marked hes just gotta see the mark on the card you picked out .

They're are certain trick decks, that hide ...say a 9 of hearts....after every other cards. Depending on which way you shuffle the deck, the cards stay in the same order, as far as they're being a 9 of hearts after every other cards. Also, depending on which way you shuffle, the 9 of hearts will always be the top card if you split the deck, or riffle through it.
