Sorry, I never could figure it out either. My son locked himself out of his house and did it. How, I don’t know.
I locked myself out of my house a few months ago. I had entrance into the garage and I had locked the front door and then that door from the garage had locked when I shut it……
I called someone to come out and they never showed. Some guy on the street told me to use a credit card. It will not work with a dead bolt. He said to stick it in the crack and move it up and down. I used something like a credit card and God helped me because it worked. It would not have worked on the front door because I have a dead bolt, but it worked on my door from the garage into the house.
stick it in the crack between the door & the latch & push hard & up it will open .
i use that trick loads of time to open my door. but when i put the dead bolt on, im screwd
1 push the door so that you have a lil play room
2 slide the cc into the jam right where the striker plate is.
3 wiggle in using an up and down motion.
the point is to move the latch in
it dont work for the deadbolt
slide it in the jam (door) and upwards. it works if you are on the “curved side”
