Well, apparently you're not "good" at card tricks if you don't know any! You need to practice execution and timing (not the same thing, believe me). You can take any elaborate card trick and look like a shaking idiot if you don't pull it off well. Just use what you know or why not ask him to teach you? It would mean some bonding time together and it could be your cute little "thing" you both like to do.

there are so many different types of easy card tricks i dont know where to begin...Get a regular deck of cards and from the bottom count four cards onto the floor or table and then put a four of hearts upside down. Square up the deck and ask your spectator to pick a card preferably near the top of the deck tell her to memorize it. Tell her to put it on top of the deck. Then cut the deck and tell her "wouldn’t it be amazing if one card in the deck turned over?" and he says "yes" and you say "well...(fan thru the cards with your left thumb pushing the cards into your right hand) and say "that card is the four of hearts" she'll say that’s not my card and you’ll say "yeah that card was just helping me..." then count off 4 cards onto the floor/table then flip over the next card and that'll be his card!! email me at for more (better) card tricks.

Pull out A-10, all suits. Put them in order, A-10 by suit. Stack them face down, tell him to cut them as many times as he wants, (no shuffling, or Polish cuts) When he is done, flip them up in sets of 5. You should get 4 sets of 10-J-Q-K-A, but they will be in different order, and the suits wont match, but it is cool how each card in the sequences are still represented. I have never seen it fail.
