Can’t figure out this card trick?

You start by shuffling the deck as much as you want. Then you cut the deck in half and choose a card from the bottom pile. Memorize your card and then put in back. Then put the deck together and cut it into thirds. Then the magician takes the deck and finds your card.
Please help. I saw this trick done like 4 times and still can’t figure it out. Best answer and major props if you figure it out.

It’s either slight of hand or all cards are the same.
The magician could have marked the cards so that he/she knows what your card is just by looking at the back of the card. Or if you get the same card every time he/she does the trick then they could have rigged the deck so that you always get a certain card.
The reason you need to pick the bottom card of the pile is because the deck is pre set for that card to be on the bottom, If the Magician does the Hindu shuffle or does not remove the bottom card from its spot then thats why, he wants you to pick that card. Then but cutting the deck in thirds he or she is simply placing the card on top of on bottom of one of the three piles. I bet you they pick the card out of the same pile again and again.
I can think of a couple of different ways to do this, but the easiest way to make it happen would to use a stripper deck. E-mail me if you don’t know how to use strippers
