i think the box is bigger then the person so a fration of the box has mechainal legs————-but thats my theory
The person is only on one side. When the box is cut the person in side is not harmed since he is on one side. The 2 nd part what you see is a dummy.
It can vary with each performer. Some might use a puppet leg. Some might use another assistant.
Most magic tricks have more than one way to get the effect.

No. Only 1. They are sawn in half.
