card trick
Spartacus asked:

So my friend tells me to pick a random card and place it anywhere back into the deck. He then shuffles it. After, he separates the cards into piles of 3. He tells me to pick one pile, (its faced down) and he removes it. He does that until there is 1 pile left. He tells me to pick one of those 3 and the one i picked is my card. It left me with a WTF look on my face.

If anybody can identify it and tell me where i can find instructions, it would be greatly appreciated.

card trick

The effect of the trick:

The spectator cuts an ordinary pack of cards in two, chooses a card, memorises it and returns it to the pack. They then magically locate their chosen card just by dealing the cards into piles, discarding some along the way until they’re left with only one card - theirs!

Before you begin the trick:

Practice cutting the pack so that you’re fairly accurate in getting two equal or near equal halves. Also practice your dialogue well beforehand so that you can run through your instructions to the spectator smoothly.

Here’s how it’s done:

Give the pack of cards to the spectator and ask them to shuffle them.

You say: “Now cut them exactly in half if you can.”

It might be difficult for them to do this, so after they’ve made the cut you can try and even up the piles by moving a few from one pile to the other, saying that they maybe need a little help to get the cut more exact.

Note: the key to this trick is that the cut must be within four cards of the centre.

You say: “Take a card from anywhere in either pile, memorise it and place it on top of its pile. Now put the other pile on top so that it’s lost within the deck.”

You say: “Now deal the top four cards face down in a row on the table and keep dealing them until you have four piles.”

After the spectator has dealt the four piles, you turn over each pile and spread it out so that all the cards are face up and on view.

Ask the spectator to point to a pile which they think contains their chosen card. You turn that pile face down and discard the other 3 piles.

The remaining pile should contain 13 cards and ask the spectator to deal this pile into yet another four piles on the table. Note: when this is done the last card dealt should be on the first pile. So ….

You say: “This pile is obviously uneven so we’ll discard it.”

You now have three piles left - each should contain three cards.

Note: the middle card of the middle pile is their chosen card.

Ask the spectator to discard the top and bottom cards of each pile. There are now just three cards left.

Pick up these three last cards (from left to right) and give them to the spectator face down. Ask the spectator to again discard the top and bottom card from the pile in their hand.

You say: “Now tell me your chosen card.”

Ask them to turn over and hold up the last card in their hand - it’s their chosen card!

My friend was showing me a card trick and he dealt a 4×4 row of cards and then he told me to pick a card in my mind and then i told him, then he picked the cards back up and asked me again, he picked them back up and then he did it again, then he put the cards into piles of four upside down and he told me to pick two, he took those two away, then he told me to pick one and then he took it away so i was left with one pile, then he told me to pick two cards and he took them away then i had two cards left and he told me to pick one, he took it away, then he flipped the last card over and that was the card i picked in me head! Then he did it again, even after i shuffled the cards, and to be smart after i shuffled them he dealt three cards and told me to pick a card, and that was the card i picked!!!!!!! HOW DID HE DO THAT?!?!?!?!!?! BLEEPING MAGICIAN!

I remember this card trick I used to do, very faintly, and I cant remember it, and its DRIVING ME INSANE!

this is kind of what I remember as a kid..

There were four piles of cards and I predict what card is under each, but as i pick them up I look at it and read it off as the other card so people think i am predicting what I am picking up but I have already seen it on the previous card I looked at

sounds confusing cause i dont remeber it, it was something like that, if u have any idea let me know if not then oh well lol

For The Sorrow I Sing asked:

So there’s like 3 cards place together in 3 rows in like 7 colums. You pick a card from the deck and place it anywhere in the deck. Then you tell the person what colum the card is in and that person collects the cards and lays them out the same way again and asks you the same question & that goes on for about 4 times. Then he does the same thing, but he flips the card facing downward and tells you to pick like 3 piles & he gets rid of the other ones. Then he tells you pick 2 piles and gets rid of one pile. Then he tells you to pick 1 pile and gets rid of the left over pile. Then he tells you to pick 2 card and he gets rid of the other one. Then he tells you to pick one card and that one card is your card.

Something like that… Anyways, how do you do that?
