always nice to have lots of cards in your private collection...and the ones you purchased from ellusionist are the best of the crop! especially the masters edition to which i have been told by from alex that they are great...and to pay the extra cash for a speedy delivery by fedex is ok too because that means you get your hands on the cards more quickly |

WOW very nice collection. The only thing I don't really like is the KAOS DVD since I found tutorials and had it figured out before buying the DVD. Regardless, the loot you got is wonderful. The only deck I believe you might not have (from the purchase list) is an invisble or brainwave deck. You can buy it or make it yourself, up to you. Also, svengali or stripper decks.
The red bicycle gimmick deck is, as the ads say, genious and wonderful. It opens up tons of new possibilities. Some people say getting the Army of 52 DVD is good but I believe the tricks can be figured out just by looking through the cards.
I remember when I first purchased the red gaff deck. I showed it to my father and he was laughing away. His favourite is the 13 of Diamonds, blurred 7S & 5S.
One trick you'll find amazing to do, and can only be done with the gaff deck that isn't in the Army of 52 DVD is called Presto Printo invented by Daryl. He uses gaffs of 10S but it can be done the same way with different cards. It does take some knowledge of sleights but they're not terribly hard. Also, the deck comes with a blank face card and 4C with the spray paint writing on the back perfect for many tricks. |

I'm glad you think my collection of cards will be pleaed. I do already have a stripper and svengali deck in my collection. I don't use them much as I don't perform to audiences or on stage much and when I do perform after things like dinner parties e.t.c I like to let them hold the eck and look for anything abnormal. The invisible deck I saw and I thought about buying it but only after my order. I bought the KAOS DVD because I think it is a great trick. I think I hve worked it out but it is very unsmooth and I think that buying the DVD just to learn the misdirection and timing would be very useful to me. My final excuse is to not buy the gaff deck and that was because I thought it was a normal deck but all screwed up, I had no idea that there were tricks to go with it.
P.S. How do you MAKE an invisible deck?? |

It relies on the idea of cards where a backing is hard and face is soft, or vice-versa. It's rare to find cards that are good for that. Anyways, once you have the correct deck, here is what you do.
I) Order the cards in suits (hearts, spades, diamonds, clubs)
II) In each of those 4 groups, arrange them in 2 piles of even and odd cards (jack = 11, queen = 12, king = 13, ace = 1). The red kings are odd and blacks are even, just for the kings.
III) Diamonds corrosponds with clubs and hearts corrosponds with spades.
IV) Using III), find combinations that add to 13.
V) Put them back-to-back and have either evens face-up or odds face-up and make it consistant (for kings, red would be up and black down or vice-versa).
There is your deck.
Now, to know if the cards are usable, spread them on a table. Ideally, the face-ups should be hidden (or face-downs hidden). Since the correct cards are so hard to obtain, I just ordered the deck.
Oh, and a little tip, don't buy from ellusionist nor penguin magic. I went to local magic shops and they said they purchased their supplies from:
www.mjmmagic.com
I checked out the prices, and it is unrealistic as to how much cheaper mjm is than ellusionist or penguin. They have all the things that penguin and ellusionist have, as well as much more. However, for illusions, such as the Icarus levitation, it is expensive no matter where you buy it (one of my most expensive gimmicks... around $500). Also, mjm ships in a week or so, unlike ellusionist where I phoned questioning where the hell my order was.
It's too late now to return your purchases, but for future references. It sucks because I also bought loads from ellusionist and penguin so it pissed me off to see how long I got ripped off for. |

I just got the order an amazing 2 days after dispatching, I guess the FedEX was worth it . I think the cards I have used most so far are the Vipers; so good looking and so smooth. KAOS was sort of performed how I thought it was but the DVD was still useful. |

No problem. If you use an alternate construction, you can make the Brainwave deck. It's just like the invisible deck, except the chosen card has a different coloured backing . I'll let you figure it out
2 days after dispatching? Very nice. Still, ellusionist's prices on products are rather inflated than many other places. |

| Since I ordered my things off Ellusionist I have been playing with them and every morning saying good they look and showing them to my friends e.t.c but in this morning's post I find a letter from Ellusionist requesting £19.99 for import taxes that have not been paid. They also mentioned that if this charge was not paid they would take "Legal Action". I was told from my original bill that these charges had been paid but the man with the big curly wig says otherwise. Does anybody know of a good magic site that sells most of the Ellusionist items, especially their large card collection, but in the UK that they trust? |

I've ordered items from ellusionist in the past but never had any unpaid and legal action stuff tossed my way. Perhaps there are international charges, like a fee for importing goods. Maybe the bill was for the shipping but not for the fees.
As supermuncher said, cards4magic is a nice place. I've never bought from them since I'm in North America. I've browsed around and they have some nice stuff. As I've said before, mjmmagic is the best I've seen. Magic stores buy from them. Check them out, compare prices. Mjm has discounts and possibly free shipping which ellusionist wouldn't dare think of. |

Well they might be international charges since I do live in Leeds, England, but It said on my reciept that the FedEX shipping covered all import costs so I'm still a bit confused . |
